For unsupported streams I use TVersity UPnP streaming the stream (HA) and with the 2007 OS either canola or media streamer to watch/listen. Now w/ the 20008 OS it seems that the regular built in media player plays very nicely with UPnP, so I use that with TVersity. I haven't tried any of the streams that were not previously supported directly.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is it possible with OS2008 to listen radio stations and see TV based on WinMedia streams? (With OS2007 I just am able to listen RM and MP3 based stations) Thanks.
You will need to install MPlayer and the enhanced GUI front end KMPlayer.Originally Posted by akd
Hi everybody...I am waiting for my N800 to arrive ..but have my first, dumb question: Is there any application (finished or under construction) that can allow to listen internet radio streams based on WM? Because I understand that right out of the box, such listening isnīt possible, just real audio and mp3 based radios. Thanks in advance.
Then you can - bitrate/n800 cpu permitting - play windows radio and tv stations e.g.:
radio -BBC Word Service:

tv - Canal 13 out of Chile:
mms://streaming.entelchile.net/canal13
Just paste the above URLs into KMPlayer.

Thanks again for the technique, but actually never worked for me...maybe I was doing something wrong trying to catch the stream address...nice will be if ITOS2008 could do this task easier.
Maybe someone could write a little helper app to get the proper address to mplayer.
