Requesting for help. Just got a used N800 and updated to the latest OS2008. All is fine until I made the mistake of installing "Midnight Commander" from the Apps Mgr. list. MC does not work and I want to uninstall it.

Unfortunately, Apps. Mgr. fails during the uninstallation. Tried apt-get with same results.

Given that MC is using 6.5M of the precious memory, I really like to remove it. Any help short of a complete firmware re-install is most appreciated.

Thank you in advance

This could be two things. One, you may need to manually clear out the app manager cache. I don't have the URL of that thread handy.

I believe you might need to be root, delete the cache and then re-run app mgr.

If you had an N810 I might say the whole thing (including the issue with midnight commander) would be a symptom of this: http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=18043

but I believe that's only a problem for the n810's

Thanks, I'll look into how to clear the App Mgr. cache. The problem may still be MC which does not work. I have been able to uninstall other Apps using App Mgr. As noted, using apt-get to remove MC does not work either.
