Since N9 and N950 have been announced, shall we have independent sub-forums under "Devices" for N9 and N950 so that people posting threads about these devices can find their way?

Or shall we discuss them at forum.meego.com instead?

There is the MeeGo/Harmattan forum: http://talk.maemo.org/forumdisplay.php?f=45

For official N9 discussion, Quim (qgil) is posting and answering questions at the handset forum at forum.meego.com: http://forum.meego.com/forumdisplay.php?f=7

I know there's a MeeGo Harmattan sub-forum, but that's for the OS, isn't it? Since there's a sub-forum for Maemo 5 (to discuss OS-specific topics) and another one for N900 (to discuss device/hardware specific topics), I just wonder if we need the same for N9 and N950...

I would have to agree, TMO should have an N9 sub forum as it is still apart of the maemo family (even if some do see it as more of a half brother). It is after all "step 5 of 5".

It would also be nice if it could be limited to discussions on the devices themselves and there software, rather than a dumping ground for all of the current topics/rants that are going on ATM.

There are far too many good posts and relevant information being lost in those IMO.

Edit: It would also be in the best interest for TMO for its members to not have to frequent other forums for specific advice and topics. Many boards can lose potentially valuble and contributing members when there interests are found elsewhere.

It would be nice to have the subforums here, even if they were just stubs that pointed to forum.meego.com\handset, and didn't allow posting.

I second that request (N9/950 sub forum), for the reasons mentionned by posters before me.

That's an OS/Platform forum, which is nice, but there's no device forum for Harmattan devices. One of those should probably be enough, since the N950 won't be generally available and it seems people who are lent one are under NDA.

meego.com should be reserved for real MeeGo discussion since Harmattan != MeeGo Handset. Since Harmattan is to logical continuation of Maemo, I'd propose a N9 subforum here. It would also help to make a clearer distinction between MeeGo Handset, MeeGo Community Edition, MeeGo-Harmattan Hacker Edition, the real Harmattan which all are discussed in the current MeeGo subforum.
