I'm had my n810 for a bit over a week now and all is going well, except that I cannot get my email to work. This is true for both the email app that came with it and with Claws email (I'm using Diablo with the latest update).

I use Earthlink as my ISP, and I set everything up on both apps according to Earthlink specifications, including ports and incoming and outgoing servers. Both sending and recieving email fails with the basic email app.

I then installed Claws email both to see if that might work better, and to see if I could get any actual info about what is going wrong. Email still didn't work, but I acquire some info:

Here's what I got when I tried to send and recieve email on Claws:

* Connecting to POP3 server: pop.earthlink.net
[23:31:23] POP3< +OK NGPopper vEL_0_1_36_P at earthlink.net ready
<1936.1220855504@mp-grizzled.atl.sa.earthlink.net>
[23:31:23] Pop3>APOP Sneadj@mindspring.com
String of numbers (that I can include if it would be useful)
[23:31:28] POP3< -ERR bad password or unknown username
*** error occurred on authentication
*** Authentication failed

I know the email address and password are correct (I've checked them both 3 times), and I have absolutely no idea what might be wrong. Is there some trick with making Earthlink work with an NIT?

Are you sure it's a POP3 rather than IMAP server? - Actually from the name I imagine it is POP3

Have you set your username and password correctly?

I've checked (and re-entered) both three times. Earthlink email is fairly easy to set up and AFAIK, I've done everything correctly, and yet I keep getting these same errors. I'm completely baffled.

Should that be a capital S on the start of your email address?

No, but it doesn't work any better with sneadj@mindspring.com
