I 've OS2008 on a N800 i was a happy user of pidgin until i updated to the latest version 2.6.6-onix0.
Now i open the app it try to connect to account servers but with no sucess, menu doesn't respond and pidgin shows the error "Warning: Excesive use of CPU" and after a while pidgin ask about close the app because it isn't responding.

The problem was on configuration file, maybe accounts.xml i deleted the pidgin conf directory "home/user/.purple" and now v2.6.6 is working.
