Apparently, OS2008 only allows three virtual terminals. So, if you have 3 concurrent ssh connection, you can't open an xterm window (it hangs). Or, if you have 3 open xterm window, you can't ssh in. Is there a way to increase the number of terminals?

Thanks.

it does work, by default it's set to 4, one for your user account using the tablet, and 3 terminals/ssh connections/etc .. I would set it to something more reasonable for the device like 16, you should not need more than that.

Change the "echo 4 > /proc/sys/kernel/pty/max" line in /etc/init.d/af-services to make it permanent.

/proc/sys/kernel/pty/max contains "16" on my 2.2007.50-2 N810.
