MySpace, ReverbNation, etc. Google helps.

Wow, Texrat, that new song is fantastic! So, 'fess up, is that you singing? What a great voice!

I really like the production on this one as well - the vocal's up front, and everything seems punchier. Sure, part of that is the song, but you're also getting damn good at production. And I think you might get some play on campus radio, if you're willing to cut it down to 2.5-3 minutes.

The singer's name is Tony, and man I wish I was that good. I used to be but health issues ruined my ability years ago.

Thanks for the compliment on production. I crammed for the 6 months I was out of work to get better at it. It would be nice for the final result to get some sort of play! But no, I won't be reducing the length... I think the shorter song spans these days is a travesty.

I'm working on an updated mix for "Who am I", but there's been an interesting side development: Tony, the singer, asked if I could work up something similar to songs on "O Brother Where Art Thou?" (Appalachian). I'd fiddled around with the genre (ha! pun!) but never really analyzed it. So I dug in and am now on the track of something I think will work.

The interesting part will be what Tony (more of an urban style singer) does with it. And to top it off, Julianna has expressed interest in singing with Tony, so I may be onto something here. I'll keep you all updated!

Oh, and Tim-- I haven't forgotten you! Hang tight my friend!

95% done, just needs a little polish (may take some time to load):

My wife says it's radio-worthy.

Ok, here's the first mix of a the upcoming number I mentioned. It may be a few weeks before vocals are done, and my hope is that Tony and Julianna will duet on it:

Lyrics:

The Love We Leave Behind (key of G, tempo 100 bpm)
copyright 2009 Randall G Arnold

(intro)

[male]
There's amazing grace in your eyes
That no amount of heartache can disguise
But there's a burden on your mind,
A missing peace you cannot find
[both]
It's a measure of the love we leave behind

(break)

[female]
There's an almighty burning in your heart
That only grows if ever we're apart
But you feel another tie that binds
And it wears at me in kind
[both]
It's a measure of the love we leave behind...

(break)

[male]
I will never stop loving her
[female]
I will never stop loving him
[both]
Going forward, all we ever hope to find
Is that time will fade the love
We leave behind...

(close)
