First of all sorry for my english...

Hello and thank you for keeping this very active community ...

I wonder if I buy a new Nokia N9, which of these things can make the phone natively (just out of the box) without problems today (June 2015) ??

- Phone calls?
- Send and receive SMS?
- Photo camera?
- Record video?
- Store and play songs in MP3 and other formats?
- Store and play videos?
- Bluetooth?
- Facebook (native application)?
- Twitter (native application)?
- Web browser?
- Nokia Maps?
- Mails?
- Any game?

And the second part: Of the things on that list that the N9 and natively can't do today, what can be done easily and simply thanks to the community? (Besides Whastup, which is what I've read and it seems that more or less works).

I love to desing of N9, it is iconic and unique, but I have doubts about whether it is worth its purchase ...

I will read your words carefully

Thank you very much !!

It depends.
For sure it is not a up-to-date device.
No current sociality app support (fully).
And needs tweaking here and there.

BUT I do still love it and looks like I keep it for a few more years ....

check also for wma, flac

in fact i recently saved a party with my n9. The guy who played music had a song in wma on his macbook, which he couldn't play on it, neither on his iphone. I took my n9, send the tune via bluetooth and played it instantly. I was proud of my good old meego phone.

works fine for me. Nokia recently updated maps for some countries. In march i think. Also using Track@way and meerun for sports.

I will keep my using my Lankku, at least until there is a nice looking, sailfish os phone.

Could someone point me in the right direction? My Maps and Drive stopped working. I have no idea since when. It just hangs at the loading screen, never going any further than that.

I do have warehouse installed. Am I supposed to uninstall the original and replace it with the warehouse one?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: So a friend reads this post and asks: Have you started it from the terminal?

I look at him, suprised I had forgotten to do that.

Drive works, after I started it once from the terminal. Starting it from the shortcut had not worked multiple times and after starting it once from the command line it just works again.

Thank you very much for all the answers!!!

Sometimes I think that although some social apps may not work properly, the N9 can be a good multimedia gadget for music, photos, videos and surfing the internet. If we add to this e-mail, maps and others it will be great.

One of the biggest problems I see is that sometimes I get lost in the computer language that I see in this website and I think that to fix some apps or make them functional is not going to be easy for me.

Again, thank you for your contributions, I will continue perusing and considering pros and cons!!!
