SQL is pure beauty. None of this titting around with with UIs, references, compilation ugh.

Pure logic, data and mathematical set theory.
simples.
*sigh*

I have this conversation a lot with developers. Some people have the the right mind to understand and 'feel' data structure and SQL, some people don't. I think it's as simple as that.

lol, i almost fell off my chair..thats a good one. Dude if you think sql2005 is really hard, then i take it you haven't seen older versions of db. Todays db (MSSQL) is so easy a 10yr old can figure it out.

SQL has been around for many years. Tried and tested technology.

Microsoft SQL however sucks bums.

Oracle, mysql and ANSI SQL is your friend.

It helps you store and retrieve stuff.

Any old farts here remember DBASE III, FoXpro and Paradox?

SQL is actually really good. It's standardised across pretty much all databases and is easy to learn, even if you've not programmed before. It's intuitive and it's common to be able to guess at commands/syntax because it's been made in a logical way.

select epic_win from dual;

I am quite fond of SQL myself, but I don't know about this special branch. I find SQL to be one of the more logical tools in my programming tool box.
