Doesn't that give me white text? It's currently set at white text and #ffffff, what is the code for black?

#000000 is for black

Ahh my bad i put the wrong values, very tired, about to go to bed, correcting them now!

You could always try having foreground set to #c8c8c8 or a slightly darker grey which would be readable on both the black and white background, or just use a colour, such as:

Lime green - #7cf804
Blue - #047bf7
Red - #d1001a

Got it working with red #ff0000

Edit: I wish I knew how to change the color of the bubbles... that would make things so much easier.
