I think you are definitely tarring an entire community...
The allowance for the individual to be in a good mood or poor one at any given time is important. The same people you found to be negative then...have most certainly gone through a few emotional states since. Give others the allowance to act poorly and odds are ...some time later they will apologise for their poor behaviour...
that is what I have found here...
Said permissions apply as well to the self...I cannot expect myself to be always cheery, positive and upbeat...that is inhuman. Likewise I know I have had my poor moments ...regret them most vigorously and apologise for them profusely...what more can be expected?
It happens...patience, acceptance, tolerance and good will all around is the best avenue...not tarring a whole community and leaving.

Stay and be the best human being you can...laughing, getting upset ...apologising ....and helping as best you can your fellows...

Or leave... which in the grand scheme of better community relations ...accomplishes little ...

One thing for sure...
few will accept the broad tarring nor the implied permanence of negativity here....
