Well Lineage would come preinstalled though.
Hope I wouldn't have to re-install just to be able to get GApps...

What's the point of using LineageOS if you're going to use google apps anyway?

Usually it is the longer security and other updates period if you are lucky and your device has a LineageOS maintainer. E.g. Nexus 6 is from december 2014 but still supported. But if you have both up-to-date stock Android and LineageOS, then the only benefit I see having LineageOS with gapps, is that you have a little more control. You can flash pico gapps and just add only these gapps components you really need...
No gapps here since the beginning

8 days since the 'update this week' message, no update.

Not worried and not sure what there could be to update anyway (in production, not supposed to be ready for well over a month so still hopeful of meeting shipping date) but why say it if they're not going to follow through. Unless there's something interesting regarding mainlining I don't know about?

Well in fact I'd prefer a Google-free phone, but I need to use several apps that require Google services.
I've tried MicroG in the past, but as far as I understood it (may be completely wrong...?), you can't just install MicroG on top of any ROM you want, it needs to support signature spoofing, which regular LineageOS doesn't. So you need a special LOS version tailored to work with MicroG. That version does not seem to be avails for FxTec Pro1 (-X) (and neither for Sony Xperia 10, which I'd have liked to install it on).
It's quite the mess trying to get a de-googled phone, if you don't buy it all set up and ready, like from /e/ - and you need those darnded Gapps-needing apps...

I asked in the community for an answer and Hook on Discord was told by FxTec support lately:

"The plan is to pre-install Gapps, and we've already done that for our pre-Christmas Pro1 X units that were shipped."

He asked them that question so he knows how to help a not so android-savy friend who also bought one.

Got a reply for my questions from Fx support in two days. Noticed that in the end of their reply is a disclaimer stating everything in the message is forbidden to share with any third party. So all I can say concerning talks here about missing news is that just wait a bit more.

So, there is no dual or multi-boot here, you must go with one of the three options, Lineage, Ubuntu or SailF?

Long time since I was on these boards :-) Still have my n900 as a treasured keepsake.

Yes. Just now I don't remember what would be the biggest problem on developing multiboot, but I guess it is somehow related to the A/B thing. I think that we'll not see multiboot (officially) on Pro1 anytime soon, if ever.
