I am obsessed by smooth and fast transitions so I tweaked the transitions.ini file to the max smoothness .

Video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2EVkFWA5eI

I've noticed sometimes when I tried to replace the transitions.ini file (not only my file , more files from different people) , after reboot the phone was bricked because the file just completely dissapeared from /usr/share/hildon-desktop/ so please before doing this mod make your phone autoconnects to your wifi network because this is the easiest way to put back the transitions.ini file there , just connect to N900 trough winscp and put the file back .

Tutorial :

1. Get WinSCP from here and follow this tutorial to connect your N900 to your PC .
2. Go to /usr/share/hildon-desktop/
3. Backup original transitions.ini file .
4. Replace original transitions file with my modded file .
5. Go to x-terminal and type killall hildon-desktop or just reboot .

Download (updated 19/3/2012) : http://www.mediafire.com/?vx0goo29qxrzcp7

I hope you enjoy this , and I would glad if you leave a comment of your opinion since this is my first "public" mod .

If anyone wants minor changes like zoom on touch , blur , etc. , ask here and I'll make custom files .

but I must ask. Is your N900 overclocked?

@HELLASIS - Yes it is overclocked to 1000mhz but this not makes a big difference from 600mhz . You better use WINSCP to explore the root of N900 , then go to /usr/share/hildon-desktop/ and replace that file , after you replaced it go to xterminal and write killall hildon-desktop .

I'd glad if someone would provide a better installation tutorial .

Thanks for the work! I also love fast transitions.

Is there a way to check if it is working or not? I mean such as an x-terminal command or so?

The only way to check this is visually , if you succesfully replaced the transitions.ini file . To be sure it's loaded use killall hildon-desktop in xterm or reboot .
