With my other phone my phone service has 6 channels (commercial channels) which i can see. Though i think i need a umts device to see them. havnt figured out if there is any way possible of seeing them on the n900 yet :/

Hi, You can use BBC Iplayer or TVCatchup.com using the web browser on N900. Both of these you can add onto your desktop for easy access. Hope this helps.
any ideas?
