Why don't you install scratchbox?

Then you can compile rarcrack yourself just as the page says, by typing "make".

Code:
[sbox-HARMATTAN_ARMEL: ~/rarcrack-0.2] > make
gcc -pthread rarcrack.c `xml2-config --libs --cflags` -O2 -o rarcrack
rarcrack.c: In function 'crack_thread':
rarcrack.c:206: warning: comparison between pointer and integer
[sbox-HARMATTAN_ARMEL: ~/rarcrack-0.2] > ls
CHANGELOG  Makefile  README.html    rarcrack    rarcrack.h  test.rar
LICENSE    README    RELEASE_NOTES  rarcrack.c  test.7z     test.zip
[sbox-HARMATTAN_ARMEL: ~/rarcrack-0.2] > ./rarcrack test.7z
RarCrack! 0.2 by David Zoltan Kedves (kedazo@gmail.com)

INFO: detected file type: 7z
INFO: cracking test.7z, status file: test.7z.xml
...
Not too hard, see? (I have only N9 and no use for rarcrack)

lol u mad?

The n900 does not have enough *grunt* for brute forcing anything. While it may run, it will not run acceptably fast. You may as well try mining bit coins or your mobile phone.

If you need rarcrack, you had better just run it on your PC, not a 3 year old mobile phone.

That's more or less what I thought this morning and I saw this "unusual" request (to say something).

Guys: it's a mobile device. Your password cracking needs are better served on a fast, stationary, device. No need to burn your b#lls by cracking passwords on the go!

@seanmcken and @Tiran,

Neither rarcrack nor JtR crack RAR passwords. Both rarcrack and JtR are used just to enumerate a list of passwords to try and are sent, painfully one by one, to the rar command to see if it returns OK.

(the command is: unrar t -y -p$PASSWORD $FILE)

This is incredibly stupid^Winefficient. But I guess it's the easy (only?) way unless details of the RAR encryption are known.

@seanmcken,

Just for the fun it. Patched it to remove threads and XML status saving and auto-detection of file type (this way it doesn't depend on anything other than unrar, 7z and unzip).

The binary (all you need) is 9880 bytes. Attached as .gz of exactly 3333 bytes.
Attached Files
File Type: gz rarcrack.gz (3.3 KB, 77 views)

LOL my PC is 3 times older than my N900

(Still about 10x faster though. Also consuming about 1000x more power.)

Alternatively, seanmcken could download his warez from a more reliable place - somewhere that doesn't password protect the RAR archives...
