Hello there. I am in need of help. I have two N900 and in one of them i had the GSM problem that i personaly fixed. Two things hapen on this device. It only starts with two of the 6 batteries i have and it overheats the battery never reaching 100%. The other strange behaviour is that after i remove the USB cable the battery drains in one or two minutes.
Can this be something related to bme? Shouldn't reflash solve this?
Thanks

PS: USB port was resoldered a few years ago. I reflashed it twice but always hapens

Sounds more like a (serious) hardware problem.

Is the soldering done properly for usb port so that there are no unwanted circuit connections?

Have you tried only in one order the flashing or with others too? I needed to play couple of times with different order to get it done. Once it booted with red squares the whole screen full while trying those but reflash fixed it and now works properly. I have couple of N900 so didn't mind if it would broke though.

What do you mean about the right order? Always flashed the same way including my other n900. I am considering that the batteries i have are not in very good condition. Once the "damaged" one showed low battery and turned off i tried that battery on the other One. First it showed 30% and sudenly turned off with 0%

Find the heat source..
Get a dual-use thermal camera.

If you get one you can help check where Leste is loosing the 80ma of sleep/idle current. [So it is dual-use technology. Because it has to be split your framerate will be low.]

(your finger tip might work as well, propably not for 80ma)

I can tell that the battery gets very hot

So your Battery seems to work.. but discharges a little too fast..
I would not run it with battery in this state.
Look for an equal hot spot on the pcb.
Since you have two devices (and your fingers can feal heat) you can even compare heat between them.
But honestly fixing might get complicated, if you cant spot something simple and obvious.
How did you fix gsm? reflow, reball, new chip, springs?
