I installed Kagu after updating OS2008 on my N810 and it works fine. Of course check on your internal memory - how much is free - that might be the problem..

Can you run them from xterminal and post the output?

UKMP won't play at all for me on the N810. As soon as I try to start playing an mp3 it locks up completely

I had the same problem, it turned out to be a strange mp3 file. try removing your songs, and see what happens.

I've tried many different mp3 with the same result. Most are high bit rate VBR files . Unfortunately I have to reboot after each crash. If I kill the UKMP process, it doesn't won't start again.

Problem is Mplayer is not installed. Tried installing it from here:

http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d...ree/m/mplayer/

No luck, missing packages hildon-fm1 and libdbus-1-2.

I read other posts, I don't believe mplayer will work with OS2008 version, v. 1.2007.42-19

Anyone have Mplayer and UKMP 1.7 working on this version?

I did free up some memory with no luck. I don't have mplayer installed, however. The info that I had read said the mplayer was needed for video only.

This is my first IT and even with these startup issues(new OS, lack of ported programs), this thing is fantastic!

Missing packages does not have to be a problem.

Download the debs manually and install (as root) with
dpkg -i -force-all {PACKAGE}.deb

Then for mplayer you need to just create symbolic links:

ln -s /usr/lib/libdbus-1.so.3 /usr/lib/libdbus-1.so.2

similar for libhildonfm... (sorry I don't remember the exact library names).

and run ldconfig

Good luck.
