I think the 770 is too quiet - is it likely that Nokia capped the db limit just as Apple did with the European iPods?

There is a hack (euPod) for European iPods to remove the decibel cap, is something similar available for the 770? I think the 770 is far too quiet and frankly unusable as a media player when using headphones as I'm always concious that it's too damned quiet which detracts from my listening pleasure!!

I just tried the internet radio on ear plugs.
It is not VERY loud on the maximum but louder would start hurting.
I also tried to connect it to my Bose system. Compared to the Ipod that is connected to it the tablet is definately less loud.
Maybe Nokia just wants to protect our ears ;-)

Are you sure that you have both volume controls up all the way?
(The one in the player app and the other in the top taskbar?)

I have my crappy sony mdr-g52 headphones plugged in and full volume is too loud for me.

gultig - thanks for the tip, maxing out both volume controls has improved the sound to the point where it is now usable with my Sony MDR-EX71's!
