Found a very easy and convenient way to stream music from the N9 with Rhythmbox and Totem using Grilo:
Installation:
Install grilo, grilo-plugins, gupnp, gupnp-av, and gupnp-dlna
Rhythmbox:
Open Rhythmbox, go to the plugin menu and enable the grilo plugin. Then restart Rhythmbox. Afterwards, you should be able to see a list of DLNA shares in the left pane.
Totem:
Open Totem, and go to View->Browse, and you should see a list of DLNA shares in the side pane.
The N9 will be listed as Media on N9. You can change that, as well as other settings, in /etc/rygel.conf
Tested on Arch Linux, but it should work on other distros as well.
