Hey all,

Not meaning to troll at all, but I noticed that the flash version on my phone went from 9,4 (tweaked to froyo 10) to 9,0,277,0 after installing PR 1.3! Some animations wich used to work do not work anymore at all, and some are very blurry with odd colors.

I was using the tweakflashver app to trigger sites into thinking I have flash version 10 (froyo), and some cases may be related to tweakflashver not being ready for PR1.3 and I know there is an update coming for this app for making it work with PR1.3 (Thank you, Atilla!) but I really find this strange. Even with tweakflashver upgraded soon, it's core compatibility will only be version 9,0, won't it?

There is the possibility that I am the only one experiencing this, or that all three sites that I have used to check my flash version worked improperly, any thoughts on this? Thank you, community

Update & sources:

I am now pretty sure I used to have 9.4:
http://maemo.nokia.com/n900/

You should try this and confirm this issue (or bust it):
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
and http://www.dreamweaverultradev.info/...e/flash/about/
or http://flashbuilder.eu/flash-player-version.html

thanks.

I'm still on PR1.2 and Adobe's site says I have 9.0.260.
So busted.

You're misinterpreting the build number for the "public facing" version number. 9.0.122.X (where X is any number from 0 and higher) is 9.4.

In fact, if memory serves me right, that's an update past the 9.0.128.x version that Maemo 5 PR1.2 had. You have 9.4 still, the build number happens to be 9.0.227.0 in PR1.3.

Hope that makes sense. Just like how Flash Player 10.1 is actually 10.1.xxx.x and 10.2.xxx.x (beta) inclusive.

how did you make the tweakflasher work? it says i'm missing libflashplayer.so.tweakflashver when it's right there...

Yep, gerbick is correct - the "Flash 9.4" that has been referred to in some promotional bumph actually means that it's the 4th update to the Flash 9 runtime featureset, but the plugin version/build number is still 9.0.x. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_p...elease_history for feature details

The N900 flash has never been 9.4 by number. It has always been 9.0 something as stated by tomchiverton. We had a talk on the forum earlier in the year about how Nokia advertises it incorrectly and it should state Flash 9.4 compatibility instead of the plugin actually being 9.4. If I cared enough, I would write Nokia about it or get my lawyers to send a letter to have Nokia either change their info about the N900 or update the flash plugin. But hey, the content that I NEED to view in flash works with the 9.0xxx plugin so oh well...

Busted, luckily. Thank you, I had no inside knowledge of the version naming of Flash. Since Nokia won't give us Flash 10.X anytime soon, I will bandage this logo as soon as our medic Atilla brings us the packages. Know what I mean? sorry for the hassle.

That's strange because I noticed the 9.4 >> 9.0 issue today when looking at a webpage. It said I couldn't use the page due to the plug in version. I'm sure that never happened before...
