hehe sorry Mrs. michaaa62 , ah ok so i will just type that command in the flasher software installed in my pc to install only the kernel. Hope i can do it because i don't know how to open my N900 to idle mode because the battery was drained and it is difficult to charge it, and since the requirement is having a full-charge battery to re-flash any suggestions that u know and might share it to me?

Really, no. Please find out what a virus is, before making random wrong assumptions. Thanks.

Actually it was a joke... you almost never know the person behind a nick, to add to the confusion: It is Mister! But really, do i care??? At least, there is no insult in any of them.

Back to the topic.
Why is it difficult to charge it?
Because the kernel is corrupted. Try to get an external charger or some phone which has a same, battery. I was purchasing a phone in the Philipines, Manila, which is quite useful as external charger, but also brings an exchange battery. Here is the thread about it: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...hlight=battery
The flasher utility may just flash the kernel with a depleted battery, you might want to try it.

if you ever get any errors on any type of storage in the future, scan and fix the drive with a windows pc, and tick scan for bad sectors box.

If your PC runs Windows, then download the maemo_flasher3.5.exe file and follow the instuctions.
your pc runs MacOS you might go for the .dmg files.
