despite accomplishing the same basic goal, theyre really not very similar

pyside/pyside2 are just python QT4/QT5 bindings wrapping the C++ api.
very similar to pyqt, and basically any other LANGUAGE-GOES-HERE wrapper around GUI-LIBRARY-GOES-HERE

pyotherside is a QML plugin to expose a python interpreter. its a much weirder, much simpler concept

on the other hand, turns out the pyqt port works great, and porting qtemail from pyside2 to pyqt only took about an hour.
(much to my surprise, porting simpler apps like qtbigtext was just changing the imports)

i guess i dont need pyside2 after all

on a side note, you have to ignore multimediawidgets missing dependency when installing pyqt with zypper.

coderus, can you upload your pyqt to openrepos perhaps? sailfish_libs's version is fine, but it gives a dependency error at install that is a little annoying (plus i dont think qmediaplayer will work on it)
