Okay, there was this deb installed alongside the link: confpp_1.0.0+0m8_armel.deb
What exactly is this confpp, and should I worry about it?
I wasn't able to find any string in the binary, so no clue about it.
However the package lists libisi1 among its dependencies, i.e. access to ISI library, which is about the grps modem. Considering that the execurable is so short, my guess is that it just make some configuration changes in the modem section.

My guess would be they piggy-backed on nokia-link to make it show up in the phone updater and look semi-serious about networking - if they'd just added a new package, no regular users would install it and releasing a PR for this is obviously out of the question.
