Well, its not about logic, if whatsapp is better or worst than other messengers. The fact is that if all your friends are in whapstapp you wont be able to move them to another platform.

Kind of reminds me why I change from ICQ to MSN whyle ICQ was way better, all the girls where on MSN...

Who says it's community is massively larger?
Last I checked eBuddy, LP, & others were all available on iOS/Android, & a few other largish platforms.

Well, you'd kinda wanna see stats from an impartial 3rd-party...
Before you could be confident that it's vastly larger than similar services.

When your carrier and nokia itself does publicity to whatsapp on their front webpages and on the street, you know that the community is large on your country. Or at least thats what they want us to think.

Nope, I wouldn't use that as the basis for anything.
It's called a marketing tie-up, happens all the time.
Hard figures (impartial/untainted) is what you want.

No denial here, just raw common sense/logic...
How big these sorts of apps are, can be a very regional thing.
For e.g. whatsapp (& other genres) are non-existent in China compared to local favorites.
Anecdotal evidence counts for little, unadulterated no's are what count most.

okie look..i have friends all over the world..each one ranging from spain, uk, Usa, india, paris..have asked me.. Why are you not on whatsapp or bbm.. :-/ that has to mean something no? and i am guessing its the same case with most people out there.. Cause the world wants something that works when they buy such an expensive device.. It is sad that people are adopting closed IM platforms more... but such is life..

WhatsApp Petition for MeeGo:
One last push before contacting WhatsApp !

Guys,

It's not about whether WhatsApp is big, omni-present, I want it etc. It's about the longitivtiy of our MeeGo. Thus, if more apps & worldwide support 'matters' towards that end - so be it.

Lets join hands in filing our support to what Constantinos started in Nov-2011... even Sotiris Makriyiannis, Nokia’s Head of MeeGo Applications when contacted, felt that if a sensible number of support was found - they could start sending letters to try and negotiate something with WhatsApp.

I don't use WhatsApp, but I do want MeeGo forever. My Nokia Blog is promoting this last push [see below link]... LET'S DO IT !

Here's the link to the Petition, once again:
