yeah I guest it has, Although I haven't test it yet, it's highly likely to have it because this image is snapshot of the Jolla device not built by kickstart or nemo piggyback

OK, we tested the new kernel on 1.0.5 version of sailfish snapshot
the problem is that the ubi-boot has appending cmdline which gives : Appending options to CMDLINE: vram=6m omapfb.vram=0:6M

but the new kernel doesnt have support for omapfb.vram

if anyone knows what should be the cmdline please help us

thanks.

hmmm... I think the new kernel worked with these command lines; however that's not important. Just remove them all! The latest filippz kernel doesn't need any command lines.

filippz kernel breaks v1.0.5, the splash screen shows in wrong orientation for fw seconds and then the device shutdown itself
here what I've done:
installed the snapshot sailfish v1.0.5 which contains everything the real sailfishOS have, then after fixed the permissions, shadows and root access, I installed filippz kernel by this command:
zypper install kernel3.5.3filippz.rpm
then I get this funny warning: "modulebuiltin.dep" is not installed
No such file or directory
I double checked and noticed the old kernel v2.32.54 replaced by 3.5.3
so I reboot the device, chose the Nemo > Filippz kernel > run
but I just can see the sailfish splash screen for few seconds and then the device shutsoff

anyone knows whats the problem?

Well, as you are using original snapshot, you'll need some more packages rather than kernel. At least a number of these:
http://repo.merproject.org/obs/nemo:...atest_armv7hl/
http://repo.merproject.org/obs/nemo:...atest_armv7hl/

The shutdown (if the phone is completely powered off) is almost certainly because of watchdog, which someone (dsme daemon) should kick regularly.

It might be helpful if you compare the contents of your image with the one of working N9 images (preferably, the same 1.0.5 version).

new updates, it seems filippz kernel tries to find modules.builtin
from old kernel v2.6.32 which doesnt exist

For me it seems you trying to start OS on incompatible hardware and partition layout.

filippz kernel is OK, as it already works in new SailfishOS images for N9 (such as mine). However, userspace might try to load incorrect modules (modules which are appropriate for Jolla). You need to remove all Jolla phone adaptation parts and add N9 adaptation software. Replacing kernel is not enough for changing hardware.
