Install CSSU Stable from here.
Select the yellow stable icon to download via MicroB.

You can't switch between PR 1.3 and CSSU, and there is no need to.
CSSU can be removed and PR 1.3 reinstalled, but this may break some dependencies due to the extra features of CSSU.
Best to reflash in this case.

Swappolube is also worth installing and load the proposed settings.
THANK YOU
The cssu is amazing! I new about the swappolube... but the CSSU makes the phone so much "new"!
I even try to use to harmattan theme!

Kernel Power?
You don't have to overclock.
I use it for the extra features/fixes and for smoother SmartReflex.

This means better battery life.

Make sure you read the wikis on these things before you install.
Kernel Power has a lot of features that are CLI.

If using Kernel Power for SmartReflex you could install QCPUFreq.
This this will allow you to enable SR via a GUI. Also overclocking will be disabled unless you enable it in the settings.

For me the main applications to install are.
  • CSSU
  • KP
  • Swapo
  • QCPUFreq
  • cpumem-app
  • CSSU Features Config
  • Orientation Lock Applet
  • Rootsh
  • Simple Brightness Applet
  • QBW
  • Wifi Switcher
  • *# Enabler

There are loads of threads for most have apps, have a search.
But remember the more stuff/widgets you put on the device, the more chance your device will become slow.

The first thing I install after a reflash is Faster Application Manager, I hate the slowness of the default manager.

When I installed FapMan I use it to download the following application

Flashlight and Camera Lenscover Launcher, this allows you to use your N900 as torch.

Next is quicklaunch, it lets you make 4 shortcuts in the status-menu(that dropdown menu)

Then I install shortcutd, and assign short press to dashboard and long press to next song.

Pierogi is another one to add, let's control all your IR devices such as TV's and DVD Players, and it's very easy to use.

And I install aircrack-ng + macchanger but that are commandline tools. Speaking about Commandline, sudser is a must have one too, it allows you to use sudo in front of a command to run that command as root. Maybe not needed as you probably have rootsh but I find it convenient to use sudo when I am not in a root shell

Almost forgot about filebox, awesome file manager, can be a bit slow when starting but it does it's job much better than the default Filemanger, IMO

I completely agree Flashlight and Lens Cover Launcher are very handy.
You can set Lens Cover to unlock device on close with this too!

I use shortcutd for locking device on short camera focus.

I don't use FAM, HAM is fine if you only use the Extras repo.
HAM does take an age if Testing and Devel are enabled.
FAM is very good application tho.

I can recommend Pierogi, a lot of good work is going in to that at the moment.

Finally I use CuteExplorer instead of FileBox.
