Hi guys!

trying to install the nice "Compass" app I have been faced with the following problem:

This is the app:
https://openrepos.net/content/hooddy/compass

I'm not able to install it via Warehouse. Downloading deb and installing using dpkg shows the following error:

Code:
# dpkg -i compass_1.0.2_armel.deb
x509_sigverify: Certificate failure reason: certificate has expired
x509_sigverify: Certificate verification failed
Aegis rejecting compass_1.0.2_armel.deb: package 'compass' origin cannot be determined -- signature check failed
aegis aborting dpkg -- all listed package files rejected
Do you know how to bypass the cert check and force dpkg to install this package?

Thx!

Don't know if this will help but when trying to install emacs I tried the following which was suggested in the emacs thread (for harmattan).

It was suggested to use

develsh

before doing dpkg.

also was suggested to add following option when using wget to download deb file.

--no-check-certificate

Hope that works!

Sorry it didn't work. I'll try it on my n9 when it get home in a couple hours. I've been reinstalling apps lately cause I did a factory reset. Think I used to have compass.

Did you try to set the date to something before cert expiry date ?

Another option is to use GPSMeeFo.

It has an compass included

GPSMeeFo seems to use GPS instead of the compass sensor.

Try to change date from on N9 before install (f.e. 2013)

Sorry. Didn't work for me.

EDIT: Well this is probably not the preferred method but it will install with Inception...

EDIT AGAIN: Another thing that works is to install Coderus's aegis installer hack

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=90750

Once it is installed you can run, as root,

aegis-dpkg -i compass_1.0.2_armel.deb

and it will install. Must say Coderus is a genius!
