Hi All,

I just back from holiday and during one evening i woke up to find just the keyboard lighting up but no display.

Im guessing the lcd display is gone, anyone know a good source to but one.?

Thanks

It might be just the display ribbon, not necessarily the whole display. Regarding the source, I would just look around eBay for N900 sold for spares, making sure the display was working. There are a few of those all the time. Or buy a new display but risk getting a fake.

The problem is you cannot say, as not all fakes are equal and some are darn right evil.

Estel wrote about dealers selling second-hand but authentic parts from phones they strip for spares. Such shops might exist where you are from.

I took it for repairs yesterday rather than to attempt myself. With just looking at it they said its the ribbon, will be done by tuesday. Hopefully its 100% when i get it back, i cant wait.

My N900 is slowly dying on its own..The flex cable is damaged.
And I don't have the money for repair.
Enjoying my time with my N900 because it won't last for long.

I'm not sure how helpful it is...
N900 Flex Cable Ribbon
You should not have to abandon the device because of one broken part. It's a sad, sad world, though...
Best wishes.

Hi all,

the shop said its not the ribbon. Changed the ribbon and no change.

The problem is :- the led light comes on, there is no sound, the keyboard lights up, no display on screen and no display via tv. He said maybe its the software, but i cant install anything as i cant see the screen anyway.

what is the problem? i want to get my stuff back, have all my numbers and data on it.
