There is plenty of info around about setting up an MMC card as a bootable device; however, as far as I can tell, all the scripts simply clone the internal filesystem onto the MMC card.

I'd like to set up a clean install on an MMC card, but that seems to require that I first reflash my 770 and then do the cloning mentioned above. I can see that this would work, but I'd prefer to avoid reflashing the internal filesystem and instead just "flash" the external card. Even better, it would be nice to do all this from a system other than the 770 itself (say an x86 Ubuntu system).

Any thoughts on the likelihood of making this happen?
