I just got my n900 last week and have been playing with it since then. few days ago I put some movies and played them fine. Today I tried again and none of them plays. It says "Unable to play media, Media format is not supported"

I did some searching and read somewhere about the extra-decoders reinstallation. I did that and it didnt fix it.

Btw, I have been doing some overclocking to my device for the past few days and I am also thinking may be some files might be corrupted. Please let me know how I can fix this problem.

try this

open xterm:

tracker-processes -r

then reboot: open media player: and there must be a prompt like "retrieving information of new media files XX:XX"

EDIT: overclocking maybe the cause of your problem "IF" this option did not work

Edit: that worked!! it didnt work at the first try, but tried again and it works now. Thanks a lot.

Is it a permanent fix or do I need to do it again?
