1. When dual booting, which gives you more application space: boot from flash, or MMC? Could never figure that out...

2. Eventually, my dad will have to give the n810 back to his company... How do I clear the search history for the search applet-- I would like to keep it new looking as possible

Thanks!

1. MMC. You can make your partitions bigger than you can with the internal flash. Just beware that ext2 is not compressed like jffs2 is.

2. rm ~/.osso/mis/internet-search-applet.xml

Ok, thanks

I am currently booting from MMC, but it seems applications are installing to the internal flash memory, not the card. If I boot from flash, does it install on the MMC card?

And thanks for that XML location, I don't see why there isn't an option

go to xterm, do

#mount

to see where / was mounted (/dev/mmcblk0p2 is the internal MMC)

apps will be most likely installed in /usr/bin or /sbin so they will be installed in the mounted device.

Is there a way to change it so it will install on the internal memory card? I have 1.25GB of space on there that isn't being used

One of the lines said:
/dev/mmcblk0p2 on / type ext2 (rw,noatime)

Is that where applications install?

yes.

1.25G is FAT so unless you re-partition to make the ext2 partition have more space.

So... If I repartition (and change it to something other than fat), then it would install on the MMC?

Is there a tutorial for this anywhere?

No.
You have to clone the OS into it. Boot from it.
So quick question but a long answer:

read that !

It looks like you may have the OS cloned to the 2gb internal already.
I partitioned my internal to 1gb ext2 and 1gb fat, loaded every app I though I might possibly use and filled up less than 350k of ext2.
So I repartitioned with .5gb ext2, 1.5gb fat.

I used pb's http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=20534 for partitioning.

If you check your memory under the control panel and details how much is shown for each - device, internal card, external card?
