Lots of messages in this forum about the spontaneous reboots of the N810 (and N900 as well) but no one has a fix for it. After three years of N810 and many firmware updates the problem still exists. Of course, the Nokia developent team als reads this forum. It seems to me that there is (for whatever reason) a random hidden crontab which reboots the device at random times.
To my experience, most reboots do not take place at heavy processor loads or hanging applications, but just in normal use.

How did you come up with this? Had my N810 for weeks turned on, and used heavily, without reboots. In my experience, this could be a problem with a misbehaving applet?

If this was true there would be obvious proof and it would be widely known.

https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6206 is a lot of the reason for spontaneous rebooting.

It's not a giant conspiracy, there are just bugs in closed-source components that the Nokia team won't fix anymore. One of the disadvantages of a non-truly-open device.

You've gotta read the thread about the patterns of network activities just minutes before those uninitiated reboots... I think someone managed to capture the transmitted packets but haven't been able to decode the content.

It also happens with the charger disconnected.

That can be a reason that the reboot bug is within the closed source part.
I got the conspiracy idea because you hear many stories about Nokia phones older than a year (i.e. after warranty period) got also some weird problems like short battery life, memory full errors (Symbian) which is a 'reason to buy a new phone'.

the spontaneous reboot happens after they transmit your thoughts to nokia marketing department via gsm, the phone has to clean the memory to make space for new thoughts. i avoid this by thinking only of pornography, soon nokia terminates the thought requests and your phone will stop rebooting. hope this helps.
