Oh yeah!!! Nitdroid for dummies! If some creates a easy, simple to use appliacation for the N900 with function to multiboot Maemo and Droid, I'll pay for that! Hell..., a over clocking appliacation for dummies would nice too! I plan to pimp out my N900 when I sexy 4g phone! Maybe the HTC HD3....,if it's real!

i'm confused of what you want to get, something like Easy Debian? autoinstalling Android from App Manager? in eMMC? (dont know if already android installation in internal memory is posible).
Seems you are sequesting some 1st-class coders.. you can ask qole but dont hold your breath in that

Hi!

I just went through the manual steps to install NITDroid yesterday and it was successful! However, I absolutely see the need to have a simpler way to install it to make it more 'mainstream'. Although I do have some understanding of what would be required to build such an installation app, I'm sure there are plenty of people better suited to the task. I'll contribute by trying to structure the requirements. Please add on/modify/elaborate as necessary.

Project Name: NITDroid Installer
Purpose: An application (read: deb package) that can be installed from the repositories (extras-devel, extras, ...) to install NITDroid to the eMMC.

Please note that just because I have written the requirements, it doesn't mean that it will be possible to implement them!

1. Performs pre-installation checks.
What's the size?
Enough space for NITDroid?
Check the SD Card
Is it empty? Prompt for backup?
As some Sandisk SD cards have issues, check if it is one of those?
Chose version of NITDroid
Developer version vs. 'stable' version?
2. Performs all the steps outlined in the
Manual installation guide.
Provide configuration options, e.g. partitioning options
3. Additional configurations
Overclocking?
Multiboot?
Anything else?
4. Uninstall/reinstall/upgrade NITDroid

All of this while storing a log-file with all actions executed and outputs in order to enable troubleshooting.

Oh, if someone actually starts building this, please let everyone else know. The last thing we want is for two ppl to start working on this without knowing about each other...
