If you have installed the new power kernel v41-44 its normal, is a bug.

use the normal kernel for the camera app or wait for a fixed power-kernel

There are a number of other possible causes...

Many people were reporting this a while ago due to some sort of disk problem - the area camera was trying to write to had become write protected, causing the app to fall over. I'm sure a bit of searching will find threads on the topic.

i've also had it due to a physical problem - having sent the device back to Nokia they reported back there was water damage on the camera chip. Given I experienced the problem the first time I tried to use the camera after getting the device as a replacement for one with a detatched USB port, I argued it was thier issue not mine and eventually got yet another replacement.

titan has provided new fcam drivers which will allow stock camera, fcamera and blessn900 to work with power-kernel V41. Works perfectly. see http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=58899&page=13

oh and be careful with V44 - many users reporing getting stuck on uboot with it (and not neccessarily immediately, sometimes after some successful reboots). Once Iheard that Ifollowed titans advice here http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...postcount=5071 and downgraded back to V42 until a more stable hostmode/uboot kernel is available, just to be safe.

I'm glad I know it's the power kernel. Altough it is the camera app that's giving me operation failed.

I have powerkernel and fcam drivers only (not BlessN900)

I'll just wait for a fix then
