Alister, please, if you want to help, then you are very welcome. I'm completely busy right now and I haven't time to go ahead...
All images you will find in \usr\share\themes\Diablo5\images\
I hope i will able to finish the virtual keyboard... 'cause I don't use it, only finger-friendly keyboard and Hardware keyboard.

After the reboot two things, that I noticed, happened:

a) The icons on the far left is now gone (woot!),
b) The 'down arrow' on top is now looking different
c) The icon for accessing the menu is now different looking (grid of small square).

Attached is a screenshot of how it looks fresh from a reboot (still got my old wallpaper):

Yep, the old one was awful.
You can find the icon for accessing the menu in Control panel → panels, as well as other applets.

I'm delighted to try that theme, is it safe? Can it be changed back to a normal theme?

Also, you russians (?) sure have done a lot of neat stuff - I think tear improvements, telescope, and the diablo theme should each have their own threads in the OS2008 forum (even if they aren't complete, you can just edit the first post as new, improved versions become available)

All settings will be recovered if you remove the package.
You can't use another theme while Diablo 5 package is installed because other themes (okay, not all, but most of all) can't be used without TaskNavigatorbar... so u have to uninstall Diablo 5 package if you want to use another theme.

Heh. I'm sure that Diablo5 is certainly deserves its own thread
Thread hi-jacking is bad mostly because few people would expect to find anything interesting in topic if main topic theme isn't interesting to them. So, Kroll, you will receive even more valueable feedback if you create standalone theme for Diablo5

Yes, it is pretty safe while you do things in right order:
1. Install theme
2. Select it in desktop menu
3. REBOOT
4. Test it and post feedback to Kroll
5. *** Unselect Diablo5 in desktop menu ***
6. Remove package
7. REBOOT

It will revert left desktop panel back after removing package and rebooting

Btw, i found that i forgot to add line removing /usr/share/applications/hildon-status-bar/applications-menu.desktop in prerm script of Diablo5's deb package. So, applications menu applet will not disappear from status bar after removing the theme. You can remove this file by your hands after removing the package.

Bug report:

When viewing something in portrait mode (my test was with the new Opera browser) (by the Adv Backlight rotation arrows that the latest SSU added) - and then switching over to Telescope App switcher the bottom half of the screen does not get wiped.

See screenie below:
