Greetings Everyone:

It is possible to Stream live TV on Cellphones and PDAs.

Thanks to this website: http://www.makayama.com/

Someone has stated that its possible to stream TV on an N800 with Orb.

After trying very hard to make my TV Tuner work and failed, meaning I can't use Orb.

Then I found this Website: http://www.livetv.ws/

But it doesn't work on the N800.

So why can't there be an Application, or Website that has TV Channels from many different Countries and would work on an N800?

If youtube works on an N800, Streaming Live TV should work too.

Does anyone know if any developer is working on an application for the N800?

Regards Robert

Tunapie seems to stream really nice, but has lots of bugs.
and freezes at some point on the N800.
maybe submitting it to the maemo wishlist would be a good thing.
All I did was compile it to try it out.
not sure how the developer did it, but all the shoutcast channels were there.
and all the ones I tried out worked.

Gmyth might be a good place to start. It is for mythtv backend streaming to the 770/800.

I'm also interested in streaming mythtv content to my n800.

There is also a youtube video of streaming live tv with videocenter.

Has anyone documentation on how to set this up?
This would really rock.

Yes this is actually one of main reasons i bought the n800. But i haven't had much success nor time to work on it.

Here's the blog from the creator i believe.
Theres a how-to for gmyth but its a long process.
I couldnt get it to work for some reason.
It was late when i tried.
I think it had to do with My server being a 64bit install.

I also tried the gmyth howto but could not get it to work. I probably just have to wait for .debs and an updated version of videocenter to support mythtv.

Greetings:

Can I ask a favor from someone.
I am not a Linux programer, and after reading about MythTV, I still don't know how to install it on my N800.
I have installed VideoCenter on my N800.
Can someone post a simple step by step process on how to install MythTV on a N800.
This would benefit many readers here.

Regards Robert

Mythtv will not be on your n800. It goes on your PC and runs as a server. The videocenter will be the client on the n800 but currently it does not have the mythtv client because of some bug. It will be added.

But Mythtv was originally developed for Linux but i believe it has been ported to windows not really sure. Might try doing a search on it. But even if it is on windows i doubt the Gmyth library's (which are needed for streaming) are available for windows.

I'm afraid there is not enough interest from Slingbox owners to create the appearance of a real need for a Slingplayer for N800! (more probably not many Slingbox owners who also have the N800?) I tried to create some stir on the Sling Community forums as have a few others but no sign of any emerging player for our device. I hope that Sling Media will eventually come through. I just now finished watching my security dvrs and looking at the local news in North Carolina as I sit here in Reykjavik Iceland using my laptop. It would be even better to use the N800 for quick looks at the home front.
