Can't you see the app in the menu or you lost the desktop icon?
Can you see those apps if you try to add a desktop shotcut?

I can see the app in the drop down menu. I had tried earlier to add shortcut at desktop; I could add up, but cannot open the application.
In the main menu listing (where all the applications are displayed) application icons were missing. Let me try again, to add shortcuts to desktop.

I really don't know what's the problem
I've renamed my desktop files a lot of times and I can't reproduce this issue.
Maybe you have a problem in hildon-home of hildon-desktop
Try "apt-get install --reinstall hildon-desktop hildon-home" and reboot again.
I don't know if it will work, but you can try if you want

Hooray ! Wow ! You've done it. Whatever you asked me to done with commands; it has helped. I have now added shortcuts to the desktop and now they are FUNCTIONING ) After adding them, I can see the missing icons in the main menu listing as well.

MANY THANKS CepiPerez
Now Ive learnt my lesson, I am disabling Extra Testing from application manager

so can this app "lock" things, or does it still just hide them?

i can't believe how much of a hassle it is just for some privacy -_-

and your rationale that "if they see icon, they know you're hiding it" well what phone doesn't do texts?
therefore no text icon, i'm clearly hiding it
the fact it's hidden proves it's hidden..

does anybody have any info on how to password-protect my texts?
