To see my problem, on your N900 go to http://sverigesradio.se/ and click the "lyssna direkt" link to open a stream (should work world-wide). On my N900 this opens the stream in the media player, where it dies with the error message "video codec not found". However, this is supposed to be a sound-only stream.

On my PC the button instead starts a Flash player in a new window.

If I download the file linked by "lyssna direkt" (for example http://sverigesradio.se/topsy/direkt/164.rtmp) I can extract a string like rtmp://rtmp-live.sr.se/webbradio/kanaler/p4sport-aac-96 which I tried to play in both mplayer and VLC, although none of them work on my computer. Can anyone else do this and try to get the media information? It's probably a case of the radio station not having set up their system properly, which stops the media player from working.
