When I access the grandcentral web site (mobile version) to play my voice mails I am unable to play them by clicking the message link and choosing open from the resulting dialog box. Media player gives me a "File format not supported" error. If I choose to download the file and then open the saved file it plays fine.

Anyone have any ideas why that would be? It' not a huge problem, it just adds a few more steps; but it should work by selecting "open"

The download type is "audio/x-mp3"

tag: grand central vm mp3

You probably want DBus Switchboard.

The fact that people keep asking how to associate file types, and nobody seems to know about the Switchboard, suggests that we might need to do some advertising for this sweet little app.

It does sound like a nice package. Thanks for the reference.

The fact that the "sweet little app" isn't in any common repository virtually guarantees that it won't get widespread use.
