Heh, yes I suppose I could have checked what was the conflicting package but just as you noted, no packet mangement tools in rescue mode.

It is possible to use the toolset of the device rootfs on mmcblk0p28:@root but that is a bit tedious and factory reset also nicely zeroes the btrfs state.

BTW it seems that the "no cellular connectivity after boot" is a real recurring problem; it manifests on about 20% of reboots.

Too late now but it turns out that maybe, just maybe, I did not need to factory reset after all.

Having done the reset and updates back to Jämsänjoki, I encountered the BSOD again on the next reboot. It turns out that the damn thing does not boot if my TOHOLED is on. When I put it on after the reboot, it works fine.

So maybe the first BSOD after the update was due to the same problem.

Exactly the same behaviour with TOHKBD2.

I have really annoying problem with my Jolla Tablet. I can connect to bluetooth audio devices but audio is still coming from the tablet, not the bt-speaker. Everything works if i reset the device and use older version of Sailfish.

Jolla updated the release notes.
It seems having "call recorder" from openrepos installed let the update fail.

How does it work? How is it possible that an update fail, cause one app is installed?

Call Recorder has a daemon. As do TOHOLED and TOHKBD2. A pattern starts emerging.

Yes, all those tie into systemd services.
It is possible that it leads to some conflict during changeover to new release.

And now the final nail; I had of course cron installed, which also is a daemon...

I had TOHOLED, Call Recorder and cron
Have only put TOHOLED back on since the factory reset. Guess I'll hold off a bit with the rest.

TOHOLED and cron work OK.
I haven't tried TOHOKBD yet because I cannot remember where I put it
