I have just updated my n900 via nokia software updater and it said that it failed 3 times, phone now re-boots but says all telephony functions are disabled due to a comunications error???
Now when i connect back into software updater it says phone not recognized???
am a complete noob and dont know what to do!!!!

I think your best bet will be to flash the device. Not complicated at all, but you have to follow some instructions that are slightly technical.

Before you go that route, see if you can connect with wifi and complete the update...that might just sort it all out without needing telephone functions.

reboot ur phone and ur ok...

You did not update the software, PC Suite has tried to download new software and failed 3 times but nothing has been changed to phone

have connected via wifi and it wont do anything update related!!
Also turned phone on and off twice with no luck!!!!
pc suite wont reckocnise phone either

Try to remove battery, wait few minutes and then put it back and restart

this is the correct firmware isnt it??
i have a vodafone variant n900 but dont care about warranty etc

you have a faulty device, I had the same issue, called nokia and they replaced it.

Flashed as per link above and all working as normal again!!
