I figure I could setup an Icecast server on my computer at home and listen to a steady stream of my choices whenever I'm in wifi range. Any reason this wouldn't work with the device?

Works well with Slim Devices Slim Server (www.slimdevices.com) too - this lets you chose what to listen to via the browser and the stream plays quite happily through the audio player - very neat indeed.
