hi all,

do we have an application that activates an event based on the gsm tower that the phone is situated? (ie: if your home, the phone knows your around home based on the defined cell phone tower (a s60v3 app was able to allow the user to define multiple cell phone towers), therefore it will activate wifi, and put on general mode. or another example is your at work, so the phone changes to silent mode) when i had the E65, N95, N85 i have used an app called Best profiles (http://www.smartphoneware.com/profil...on-product.php) that does exactly that, location sensing, than run an event. Do we have an app similar to this for our awesome n900? if so let me know, or if not, can someone create one?

This might be fun to hack on. The main question is battery usage as if you need to use reasonably accurate positioning then you need to keep GPS polling even when the phone is "resting".

when i had the s60v3 with best profile, i did not experience any battery drain as it doesn't use the gps to locate.

N9profile kinda did the trick, thanks
