There are some problems with the windows driver from time to time.

It might be an option to flash from a Linux-Live-CD or an installed Linux system. I would suggest some Debian- or Ubuntu-Live-CD. Here is the wiki about flashing http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware

Nevertheless, i would try first to just flash the kernel from the fiasco image, according to this: http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_t...rt_topic.21.29

Did you press the "u"-key at reboot?
Try to remove the battery, start flasher on the pc, hold the "u"-key, connect the usb-cable, and insert battery, while holding "u" some seconds.

The N900 then shows no backlight but a nokia logo, and a usb symbol in the top right and it stays at that state. In Windows 7 it is rocignised as "Nokia N900 (Update Mode)" in the Device Manager.

muciacias, as michaaa62 said, something is messed in windows, you didn't bricked your device. I had the same problem last time when I flashed mine. In my case I suspect freshly installed Nokia Suite. I always terminate Nokia's apps on PC before flashing, but that didn't help last time, so Ubuntu Linux was my savior.
