I love fbreader to read ebooks. But,I use to download ebooks in pdf or doc format. There is an easy way to convert to a supported fbreader format? (Windows or Linux program I use both).

I've used Calibre (http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/) to convert several Mobipocket and PDF formatted books to epub format. I works very well.

You can use Mobipocket:
http://www.mobipocket.com/en/Downloa...sp?Language=EN

They have a desktop client which allows you to import from PDF, Doc and others.
I use it on my Windows Mobile devise and works great.

Both are great apps. But no one convert to a full fbreader supported format. If the converted document is to complex fbreader crash. Also there is some problem to convert images and format from a pdf.
You can try to convet this free pdf document.

i have been using a program called "convert-lit"

so far i have used it on .ebo and .lit files which are the two types of ebook files i was using on my windows reader on my desktop

it takes ebooks and converts them into a folder that has the books as both an html file and as a .opf file

i download and convert on my desktop 'puter and then drag n drop the files into my n800.

both types of file are readable but the html looks like plain text but the .opf files look good in fbreader. the covers show up and the pages are laid out better.

way cool app for reading in bed, in portrait mode with finger taps to turn the page.

go here and check it out. i downloaded the top link

http://www.convertlit.com/download.php

if someone finds something that works better than this...PLEASE let me know

Doc files are easy. Just open the file with Windows Word and "save as" a rich text file or an html file (web page). As for pdf files, open them with Adobe Acrobat and save as rich text file. Lit files convert well with convertlit, ereader files with a python script available if you dig a little at darkreverser.com, and he has a script for mobipocket as well.
Cheers
