We recently got paypal account for donations, but they can freeze it at any moment for any reason, bullcrap. Bitcoin on the other hand is - free from conversion fees, free from asset freezing just because, all in all much better. Shouldn't we have an option with bitcoin too? Makes much more sense in every aspect

I have never worked with bitcoins before.
How exactly does it work?
Can we add/withdraw money from bank?
I've also heard some stuff about 'mining'. How does that work?

Mining is nowadays done by specialised rigs with custom CPUs(FPUs actually), mining on desktop/laptop will cost you more in electricity than you can get from it, so not worth it. The beauty of it is you can transfer with no greedy middle man taking a cut (still need to find best way to obtain some bitcoins of course, but there are plenty of ways), no conversion fees, no transaction fees. Pretty much the best way to transfer funds around the globe. Will try to find a good FAQ to post, we should really consider that, all the time poeple come up with problems like UK banks charging extra on euro transfer, or 10% cuts on this or that, bitcoin is pretty much free from that

edit: a short list of how to obtain bitcoin (sorry stealing from 8chan):

And general bitcoin faq for now:

Szopin...
I completely agree...
we need to get everybody here onboard...
it would save a small fortune donation-wise.

It just cuts out the middle man (whether paypal or else), the fact you can buy/cash them out practically everywhere in the world makes it even easier in some countries (you can buy for cash, just need to arrange it, no such way with paypal etc)
