Hello,

could we have GPS geotagging for the in-built camera of the N900?

It does this automatically.

The camera on N900 has automatic geotagging. You can switch GPS on or off in 'settings'and 'location'.

GPS data logger can be found here:
http://my-maemo.com/software/applica...uto=931&faq=32
Look for the repositories to be used on the N900

Tracking can be done by QLandkarte M on N900 and QLandkarte GT on your PC
http://www.qlandkarte.org/index.php?...&id=8&Itemid=8
Q Landkarte M is in the extras-devel repo.

For N900, maep, with Openstreetmap or Google maps, can record tracks.

Correlation of logged data and pictures:
- be sure date and time on N900 and camera are the same
- on your PC, use GPScorrelate (for linux or windows):
http://freefoote.dview.net/linux_gpscorr.html
http://www.freefoote.com/linux/corrdoc/concepts.html
http://www.freefoote.com/linux/corrdoc/gui.html

- Or on your PC use DIGIKAM for correlation, and easy viewing and editing of locations:
http://www.digikam.org/drupal/about
It is in the ubuntu-repository, and available for windows as well.

Hi ,

I can say that qlandkarte GT can open N900 geotag picture and put them automatically on map at the right position and show it like on google earth.

Import menu is under Waypoint -> import from file.

Once you have done that you can upload it back to QLandkarte M if you want with the picture

I am working on porting gpscorrelate and gpscorrelate-gui to Maemo 5. I already have a first working hildonized UI but I still need to package it. I put some screenshots on my picasa account.

gpscorrelate (command line version) and gpscorrelate-gui are now in extras-devel. The user interface could be prettier but it does its job. There is no bug tracker so report any issues directly to me or here (maybe an own thread).

I find the gps logger works great. simple. unobtrusive, "just works", minimal power drain.

I'm then able to import the .gpx into a variety of tools including lightroom (with "jeffrey's" geo-encoding plugin), tag & this is retained when publishing to flickr

Main thing to remember is time synchronization (or input of offset) between the camera and phone clocks.
