I'm using the latest copy of FBreader, and I really love it. The only problem is, I've got a lot of files in HTML format, and FBreader doesn't interpret left and right quotes, dashes, doublequotes, etc. correctly.

I've tried using the other fonts available in case it was a font issue, but they all display the same thing -- for each symbol it can't display, it shows a little box with

00
92

or another code; I assume it's the ASCII code for the character.

Any suggestions? I really like FBreader otherwise.

I use FBreader a lot, especially with html in .zip files to save space. Quote characters work fine for me. I do remember this happening to me with a few characters. I was able to find substitutes for all of them to display correctly.

This is an encoding problem, not a font problem. Most of my html files pass through Open Office on Windows. The standard english encoding from there seems to work fine.

Had the same problem, is easy to fix.
Open the html file in fbreader, open the book info window, and change the encoding.
either one of the ISO's or IBM866 encoding should resolve the problem.
