Thx for your work.
Its certainly something i can add, look out for an update...im not sure about the non-satelite issue...it will do whatever qtmobility does.

Hi,
I've installed this app and it is actually updating latitude, excellent!
(that's something i could never get the other latitude apps to do).

The issue I'm having is that when i'm inside a building and GPS reception is bad my location is being reported as around 5000km (3100miles) away from where i actually am. This happens even if i set the app positioning method to satellite. (so it's not a cell site lookup error)

My real location is Auckland, NZ
lat= -36.8
lon= 174.6

But if i'm inside a building latitude gets updated to say i'm in "Kiribati" (5000km away)
Currently showing as somewhere around these coordinates.
lat = ~0
lon = ~172

The lat value being around zero looks a bit suspicious to me, as if it's updating the longitude correctly but not updating the latitude value (so google plots it as zero)

Any ideas?

(Remember, if i'm outside when it updates everything works fine and the problem doesn't happen. Its definitely got something to do with GPS reception strength)

Update:

Someone on IRC recommended i change the phones 'network positioning' server from nokia's to google's (supl.google.com)

So far that seems to have fixed the issue.

2nd Update:

yep, that has definitely fixed the issue and also made gps lock much quicker.

supl.nokia.com is causing issues use supl.google.com instead

I tried this little widget without any success :-( After proper OAUTH this widget stays on my desktop saying "waiting for location" forever - no latitude data is sent of course :-( Has Google changed API for Latitude last month or something? It seems all google latitude reporting applications won't work as they should :-/ I tried Latitude Updater with no real success too. It worked for the first time, then just stopped.

Mine did that the first time, but after a reboot and a few hours it came right.

I just checked, my phone sent a latitude update 25min ago, so its still working.

Installed the pgz-lattitude-widget a few days back from extras-devel without any problems. It is working fine updating location on google latitude with no significant change to normal battery consumption . Many thanks to PIGGZ.

Any update on the crashing bug? Unfortunately the widget disappears after a day or so.

App doesn't work at all anymore for me since a few weeks. Widget's just sitting there, "Waiting for location", forever.

Google latitude was shut off in 2013. Is there an alternative?
