Hello Ade, yes I'm probably the biggest SNK fan here, BTW I have uploaded 2 more videos KOF 96 and KOF 2002 gameplay, still without gamepad or sixaxis unfortunately. Already did the xterminal comands, screencast attached, thank you for that, I hope you have some idea of what is wrong, tought the joy had to be connected but it seems it doesn't need to. As I saw the directionals indicate 4 , 4 , 4 , 4 .(same value), the other 6 keys are mapped and work properly. KOF 96 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD_Jz_EFPS0 and KOF 2002 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_HdVky2Ttg .
I didn't use your cps2-gui yet because I heard some people were having some troubles with a new version and I remember I had too much work when installing the version I have now, but I'll try ur version sometime.

I just had an idea, if we could find out what is the value of each of the directionals of the usb joystick we could edit the home user\ .gngeo\ gngeorc .txt manually, and I noticed that there're 2 gngeorc files, one of them called gngeorc 'old' , I guess the one that is used is without 'old' , can you check if you have them both aswell? It might be the problem??? I hope so, will try, then will report back, (better I back up the 2 files before) , keep doing the great work on the app, it's been so long since the first version, but it was worth each update!!! Thanks a lot Ade.

I create the gngeorc.old file before saving a new gngeorc. Sometimes it is practical to have a previous version.

My joystick config is as follows:
Code:
p1joy 2,3,0,1,5,4,0,1,1,1
The last four numbers indicate the axes. You could try to use my numbers and see what effect it has.

Checked out your new videos. Too bad the TV screen causes the rolling black bars in your recording.

Thanks Ade, will try that tomorrow, my N900 is charging all day and is still not complete, strange. And I know that usb hostmode is very battery demanding so better after battery fully charged, I'll change just the last 4 keys (axes) since all the other keys are working, I hope it works but I have a feeling it wont, pearphs I'll try with various combinations to see. Yes when recording with TV OUT there're alwais black bars rolling across the screen, I need to film from a greater distance and use zoom, then they may be gone hopefully.

A new version of gngeo and gngeo-gui is uploaded to the extras-devel repo. See the first post for the changelogs.

The main changes are the options to set keys for load/savestate, reset etc, and the possibility to define hotkeys. A hotkey is a defined button that executes a predefined combination of the A-D buttons (see the screenshot on the first page).

The possible crashes in fullscreen mode are not fixed (yet). I did not have the time nor energy to dive in this issue again.

Not having fullscreen also means that the load/save state messages in the bottom of the screen are distorted. This really asks for the fullscreen mode.

During installation, the current gngeo config file should be added with missing (new) config lines, so that the current settings are preserved and the new ones have a default value.

p.s. for those who want to experience the real thing: a retro NeoGeo console will soon be released:

Great, the hotkeys feature is really cool. Are you planning to add it to cps2emu too?

Actually the hotkeys part was already implemented in gngeo. I just made them configurable in the gui. I offer the option to define 2 hotkeys, but you could define 4 hotkeys per player. The gamegripper already has no room to define all the possible keys, so I guess two hotkeys should be enough.

I have done some testing with key combinations in cps2emu, but I did not work out as well as expected, so I dropped that again.

For those who still want to use load/save states in gngeo in non-fullscreen: the screen output is not properly visable. After you press the defined key for load of save, its asks for a number (0-999). That is the load/savestate number. After entering the number on your keyboard and press enter, the related state is loaded or saved.
